Tip Jar

When I first became a stay at home mum it was too overwhelming, it's a very busy and hectic lifestyle. I felt like every minute in the day was go time, if I wasn't doing this I was trying to figure out how to do that. I needed help!
Learning from my own trial and error I then picked up quick tips and facts that have now made my days so much more manageable and organized. I decided I would post up these quick tips, some is household cleaning tips, fashion tips and beauty tips. Very random, but I hope very helpful.

- Storing your bread in the freezer makes it last longer and doesn't let it grow mold.
- To remove pet hairs or that stubborn lint that even a lint remover doesn't seem to remove from your garments use sticky tape or a shaver.
- Always write a "To Do" list, even if you write ridiculous things like "Fix Bed", cause when you finish that task and you cross that baby out... it feels great!
- Clean the shower while you're having a shower, it reduces time, effort and water.
- Vertical lines make you appear slimmer and taller, halter necks are flattering for broad shouldered women while having a low neck line (show that cleavage girl!) makes your arms appear slimmer.
- When coming home from grocery shopping separate your meats in freezer bags to your families meal portion size, that way you don't have to always defrost a whole lot of meat that you're not going to use or cook way too much food.
- Microfiber cloths are good for that no streak look on mirrors/windows/glass and for picking up dust around the house.
- Instead of defrosting your meat in the microwave (which always cooks half the meat!) have the meat in a tied up freezer bag and soak in cold water. Have something to weigh the meat down (a can, glass full of water) and use your fingers to separate the meat every few minutes.
- Looking straight into a babies eyes while they whinge and cry encourages them to cry harder.
- Buy majority of your families socks in the same colour so that if you lose one sock the other can still be used (great for the husband and kids... cause we know how reliable they can be :-P)
- To remove gum from garments place the garment in a plastic bag and put it in the freezer, once the gum is frozen it should be easy to break off.
- For good quality reheat pizza on a pan on low heat rather than in the microwave (where it turns stale) or an oven (where it's crunchy hard)
- For reheating a day old rice put a little bit of water with it and put it in the microwave with a lid, this way it doesn't turn out all crumbly and hard.
- Use your household hair conditioner to shave instead of shaving cream, it leaves your skin subtle and silky.
- To remove that yellow stain you get on your cuticles from nail polish just soak them in lemon juice.
- Ice cube trays are a good way to separate and organize your earrings.
- Mix olive oil and sugar to make a lip scrub, or use a toothbrush!
- Spend time to iron your laundry all at once so that all garments are available and ready to wear when you're in a hurry.
- Kitchen utensil trays are cheap and a good way to organize your make up in your drawers.
- For cupcakes or muffins that have baked lopsided at the top, turn it upside down while it's still hot on a flat hard surface (plate?) and rotate it with pressure into shape, be careful to not use too much pressure, you don't want it to break.
- Set your clocks 15 minutes earlier to eliminate being late.
- The Fisher and Price app is wonderful for babies.
- Easy Off Bam works for the shower!
- Nail polish remover on a cotton ball works to take off those scratches on sneakers that scrubbing doesn't seem to do.
- Turn your husband onto his side if he is snoring -- haha it actually works!

Well I hope these tips and facts are helpful to you, let me know if you have any cool tricks or tips that make your life easier.
