DIY : Pleather Circle Skirt

An easy DIY tutorial on how you can add this huge trend, of a pleather circle skirt to your wardrobe.

Inspiration: It all happened in a conversation I had with my best friend Miss AA. She was telling me how expensive pleather circle skirts seem to be (especially for a petite size 6 such as herself), I was suddenly compelled to make a DIY for all you bargainers out there.

Before we begin you will need to make the pattern above according to your measurements.

Materials You Will Need:
  • 2m's of Pleather fabric
  • Skirt Zipper
  • Matching thread
  • Hook and Eye fastening
  • Pair of scissors

Step One
Fold your fabric in half, fold it in half again.
On the folded edge pin and cut your template out.

Step Two
Open up your skirt and cut down the middle of one of the sides, as indicated in the picture.

Step Three
As indicated in the picture, sew the two cut ends together, leaving the gap for your zipper to be sewn in.

Tip: Use your zipper as a guideline as to how much of a gap you should leave unsew.

TIP: Before putting your zipper in, use an iron and press the seam open with a towel on top - this makes it so much more easier.

Step Four
Pin and sew your zipper on where you had left a gap.

Step Five
For a nice, clean look sew the waist edge and hem the skirt.

Step Six
Hand sew your hook and eye above your zipper.

Yay! You have now completed your very own pleather circle skirt.

Styling.
