An easy tutorial on how you can DIY your own pair of expensive looking statement earrings.
Inspirations:
I'm a definite window shopper when it comes to expensive jewellery
pieces, the only jewellery I will splurge on is a watch... and that's
because it's functional. After window shopping a bajillion times on
earrings that I want in my possession, I decided "hey! cut the crap and
make your own."
Verdict:
Cheap to make and sturdy! I spent about $5AU on the materials (with the
beading) at the dollar store, everything else I had at home.
Materials You Will Need:
- Pair of scissors
- PVC (bought from fabric stores)
- Beads/Jems (Dollar Store)
- 2 Earring Head Pins (Dollar Store)
- Quality Industrial Glue (E-6000 from Ebay)
Step One:
Arrange the design of your earrings and how you would like the Beads/Jems to be glued.
Step Two:
Glue the pieces down onto your PVC.
Allow to dry.
Step Three:
Cut out your piece as close to the beads as possible. Try and avoid the PVC peeking through the front view of your jewellery piece.
Step Four:
Glue your Earring Head Pins at the back of each earring.
Allow adequate time for everything to dry.
