DIY : Lace Trim Cardigan

An episode of our Wardrobe Rehab series. Here is a DIY Tutorial on how you can jazz up a simple cardigan.

Inspired: With Spring hitting right around the corner here in Australia, I am excited to announce... cardigans are going to be at a full advantage in my wardrobe styling for this season. I thought I'd combine a few new Spring Trends that are coming our way (click HERE for my post about this coming Spring Fashion Trends) and combine a favourite fashion item of mine (cardigans) with another favourite element of mine (lace trimmings).

Materials You Will Need:
  • A cardigan you wish to revamp.
  • Lace Trimmings (Daiso)
  • Matching Thread And Needle
  • Scissors

Step One
Measure and cut the lace trimming to how you would like to stitch them - I had decided to put three rows and spaced them 2 inchs away from each other.

Step Two
Stitch each trimming down to the cardigan, you can use a sewing machine for this or hand sewing (back-stitch).

Yay! You have now completed your Lace Trim Cardigan! Pretty easy right?

Styling.

For Spring try doing a more bohemian look by pairing it with a Cheesecloth Dress and wrapping a vintage patterned scarf around the neck.

Want something on the more laid back casual side? Try pairing it with a plain T and those boyfriend jeans.

Here I had rolled up my boyfriend jeans at ankle length and wrapped a contrasting coloured scarf to add more boldness to the outfit.

On a warmer Spring Day pair it with a denim skirt!

If you are feeling daring and love florals as much as I do, try styling it with a floral skirt for that vintage feminine touch to your day.

Here I had kept the cardigan closed and tucked it into the floral skirt at the waist.
