Recipe for Pigs In Blankets

PIGS IN BLANKETS

Don't have much time until the kids or hubby gets home from school and work to whip up a quick snack? Or you're trying to figure out a bite sized finger food dish to serve this weekend when the girls come over? Pigs in Blankets is perfect! It's cheap, simple and delish.

Prep Time: 5 Minutes

Cook Time: 20 Minutes

Total time: 25 Minutes

This recipe makes 8.

 INGREDIENTS:
  •  2 Sheets of Puff Pastry; cut into squares of 4 on each sheet.
  • Grated cheese
  • 8 Cocktail Sausages
  • 1 Whisked Egg

DIRECTIONS

Step One -   Preheat oven at 250.
On one of the quarter squares of the pastry sheets place a Cocktail Sausage in the center with grated cheese on both sides.

Step Two - Now to fold the blankets, get the left corner of the pastry square and fold over, make sure you are covering the filling.

Step Three - Get the right side corner of the pastry and fold over to the left. Make sure you press the pastry down firmly - the last thing you want is everything opening up.

Step Four - Now lets seal up this piggy, get the bottom corner and fold up, press the pastry down firmly in the center to make sure all corners are secured.

Step Five -  Grab your whisked egg and lightly brush a layer over the pigs in blankets, this makes sure the pastry doesn't break and crumble while cooking in the oven and makes it nice and shiny :)
Turn the temperature of the oven on medium heat and let the piggies cook for 15 minutes or until the pastry is golden brown.

Step Six - NOM-NOM! Your piggies are now ready to be devoured! Serve with sauces of your choice, I chose tomato sauce today :)
Don't be afraid to have fun and experiment with your piggies, some people add bacon to their fillings or try and sneak a few vegies in for the kids. Good luck and I hope you enjoy this little snack!
